Sharpen your runners! Breaking news from northern Sweden today. The Swedish ice sailors are first in the world as far as we know to pull the string on the hard-water and open the new season. Congratulations to our Swedish ice sailing friends.

4LIYC Racing Update for February 6-7, 2021

If I’m reading the translation correctly, members of the Stockholm Ice Yacht Club in Ranängen, Sweden, have plowed the ice at their clubhouse today in anticipation of setting up NORA, a vintage Swedish stern-steerer.  If only this were possible on Mendota! There is no 4LIYC racing scheduled for February 6-7, 2021. Too much snow! The next 4LIYC racing update will be Friday, February 12, 2021, by 5 PM.

From Ron Rosten, just returned from the Junior World Championship:

Parallel Universe. The gentleman standing behind Team Sweden is Uppsala’s Kjell Mattsson. Every DN in Uppsala, Sweden has been built, repaired, or upgraded in Mr. Mattsson’s shop. Does this sound familiar to anyone in Madison with an almost identical last name?
